Assistant Cook

The Assistant Cook works under the direction of the Head Cook to prepare Meals on Wheels and Senior Center food. This role is key to ensuring Fayette County Seniors have access to nutritious meals. The Assistant Cook assists in the preparation of meals according to the scheduled menu and nutritional guidelines (ensuring proper temperature, quantity, quality, appearance and nutrition), and works with the Head Cook in planning meals for senior center programs. This role also serves meals to Senior Center customers and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment. Ideal candidates for this role has experience working in a commercial kitchen and knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
