SENIOR MARKETING ASSOCIATE Reports to: Senior Director of Marketing Compensation: $58,000 - $63,000 Location: is headquartered in New York City with a distributed workforce across the country. Preferably, candidates will be based in the New York City Metro area, but candidates in other locations within the U.S. will be considered. Tri-state area employees observe a hybrid schedule. 3 days in office (Tu, W, Th) @ 50 w. 17th Street, NY 10011. DS offers flexible working hours between 8am - 6pm EST. THE ROLE Marketing is at the heart of DoSomething's ability to reach and engage young people in our campaigns and programs as well as maintain relevance of the DoSomething brand within youth culture. DoSomething is seeking a strategic thinking, collaborative, and results-oriented, Senior Marketing Associate to join the Marketing & Communications team. The ideal candidate will blend both creative and analytical skills to drive forward dynamic, innovative, and impactful DoSomething campaigns and programs. As the Senior Marketing Associate you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns to activate youth in service of both short and long-term social impact outcomes, exceed the expectations of our funders, and elevate the DoSomething brand. You'll also be responsible for overseeing talent management, brand partnerships, and supporting our scholarship program. WHAT YOU'LL DO Marketing Management & Strategy (40%) Participate in the ideation and manage the execution of multichannel marketing campaigns from start to finish, driving collaboration and serving as a creative partner to our Graphic Designer, Social Media Manager, Senior Communications Associate, and Associate Web Producer. Support in developing creative briefs and leading the execution of key marketing assets, including, but not limited to, print pieces, podcast ads, OOH ads, marketing copy, event collateral, video production, and other media. Work alongside the Senior Communications Associate to build and deploy email and SMS campaigns for member communications, and monitor the health and performance of said campaigns and identify areas for improvement Build and manage internal systems to capture performance metrics including but not limited to: conversion, engagement, reputation, media coverage, and impressions to identify areas for optimization and marketing budget investment across all marketing channels. Ensure that marketing strategies and messaging reflect the diversity of young people and cultivate an environment of inclusion. Cultivate, maintain, and research paid and in-kind partnerships to amplify our brand and programs as well as diversify and grow our member collective Brand Partnerships and Talent Management (40%) Work with the Senior Director of Marketing to enhance the growth of partnership marketing strategies that help align DoSomething with Gen Z and Gen Alpha cultural conversations. Past partners include Little Words Project, Her Campus, TikTok, Snap, etc. Serve as a brand experience partner to the Community Outreach Manager for virtual and in-person programming events including our Art of Democracy series ( and the development of offline brand activations. Serve as the primary point of contact with partners, contractors, and agencies, collaborating with them to co-develop marketing collateral and manage the creation of partnership assets. Prospect and cultivate relationships with celebrities and influencers to serve as ambassadors for our brand and campaigns. Liaise with brand ambassadors for filming, media engagement, and social activation. Scholarship Program Management (20%) Manage scholarship marketing budget, campaigns, and partnerships for our scholarship program ( . Evaluate performance and provide recommendations to meet program goals. Manage, audit, and assess scholarship marketing partners to promote our scholarship opportunities to a diverse audience of young people to help young people achieve economic mobility. Work with the Senior Member Engagement Associate to select winners for our scholarship program and leverage Salesforce to manage winner selection and disbursement with our finance team. Serve as the primary point of contact with scholarship marketing partners, students, and universities. WHAT YOU BRING A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a marketing-related field, specifically focusing on digital marketing strategy and execution. Experience in a creative agency and/or nonprofit environment is a plus, and direct experience creating campaigns targeting young people is strongly preferred. A lover of reporting and data. You have experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hubspot, etc.) and are comfortable tracking information and navigating spreadsheets, and CRMs, distilling insights from data, and communicating data-backed recommendations for continuous process improvement. A creative eye. You can take broad visions and concepts for programs and campaigns and identify partners as well as creative ideas, and develop structured plans, actions, and measurable metrics to put your vision into action. You have worked in an agile environment and have experience in pivoting and evolving strategies to meet strategic objectives and goals Strong cross-functional collaboration. You come with finely tuned interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills to collaborate seamlessly across multiple stakeholders and teams and understand how to align and operationalize teams around your vision. You're proficient in the project management tools (e.g. Trello, AirTable, Slack) and techniques to keep things running smoothly. Familiarity with CRM(s) like Hubspot and Salesforce are strongly desired. Knack for Numbers. You understand the role that data analysis plays in making smart marketing decisions and use it to inform your strategy and tactics. An engaging writer. You're a strong writer that understands how to mold your style to different audiences. Deadline-driven and results-oriented . You can prioritize multiple stakeholder requests, create efficient workflows, and manage up to keep projects moving along. Pop culture obsessed. You know how to keep your finger on the pulse of current events and trends among our primary demographic from a branding perspective, and you're practiced in applying a race-intentional and inclusive lens to inform your understanding of youth culture throughout the identity and political spectrum.
