TITLE: Associate, Antitrust Practice GroupDUTIES: The Antitrust Practice Group provides solutions for the full range of complex US and EU antitrust issues, including mergers and joint ventures, cartels and other horizontal agreements, exclusionary conduct, agreements with suppliers and distributors, the IP-antitrust interface, and abusive conduct by dominant firms and state aid in the EU. The Antitrust Practice Group excels in the full range of individual and class action claims, including allegations of price-fixing, tying, monopolization, unlawful distribution arrangements, no-poach agreements, group boycotts, IP licensing practices, and other alleged exclusionary conduct.Responsible for providing legal advice to clients regarding litigation, regulatory, and/or transactional matters. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. In addition, will be responsible for performing legal research under the supervision of firm partners and other attorneys and providing advice to domestic and foreign clients. Responsible for the following professional duties:Representing multinational companies in complex civil antitrust litigation and private antitrust class action litigation in federal courts.Analyzing antitrust claims and potential defenses and assessing the chances of proposed solutions, including conducting legal research and identifying practical and theoretical issues suggested by set of facts of the case.Drafting/reviewing/revising/editing legal briefs and memoranda, including providing feedback to junior associates.Supervising legal research to ascertain and/or evaluate the law of one or more jurisdictions, state, federal and/or international, with respect to each issue.Reviewing documents and discovery case materials for litigation, including conducting document review.Preparing for and attending depositions, including but not limited to, interviewing clients and witnesses, conducting document review, conferring with colleagues with specialties in the subject matter of the suit, conferring with opposing counsel, and developing strategy and arguments.Preparing for trial, including but not limited to, interviewing clients and witnesses, gathering evidence, conferring with colleagues with specialties in the subject matter of the suit, conferring with opposing counsel, and developing strategy and arguments.Actively observing and participating in cases in areas of practice including traveling to meet with clients and attending client meetings, judicial hearings, and strategy sessions, and preparing for oral argument.Counseling and assisting clients with government review of mergers and acquisitions; filing obligations under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act; and securing antitrust clearance from federal, state, and foreign competition authorities, including reviewing documents and case materials, preparing for depositions, and preparing filing materials and documents.Counseling clients relating to antitrust law compliance, legal strategy, matters of law, legal requirements, and similar issues, including reviewing potential discovery and case materials.Representing clients in internal investigations relating to potential violations of antitrust laws, including conducting witness interviews, preparing memoranda, and reviewing case materials and documents.Representing clients in quasi-judicial or administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution forums.Preparing advisories on antitrust law and case developments.Preparing pitch materials for requests for new matter/business development proposals.Attending firm seminars on U.S. legal issues.Actively participating in a program that allows observation of U.S. law firm practices and U.S. court proceedings.Job Requirements: Juris Doctor Degree and 3 years of experience in the job or related. Must be licensed to practice law in New York. Experience to include representing and counseling Fortune 500 multinational companies in a wide range of industries, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, media and entertainment, publishing, fine arts, and food and beverage with respect to: Civil litigation in state and federal courts. Complex civil antitrust litigation and private and putative antitrust class action litigation in federal courts.Judicial proceedings and alternative dispute resolution matters opposite state regulators and states' attorneys generals' offices. Internal investigations relating to potential violations of antitrust laws.Consumer protection and data privacy law compliance and legal obligations.Ability to work remotely as agreed upon with manager.
