The Town of Falmouth is excited to open the search for a Benefits Administrator to join our Human Resources team following an expansion of the department and an internal promotion. The successful candidate has progressively responsible experience in employee benefits administration, meticulous attention to detail, and enjoys working with a wide range of people in a fast-paced, professional office. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits that works on-site at the Town Hall. The primary function of this position is to administer the extensive benefits available to the 400 full-time and 50 regular part-time benefit-eligible Town employees and 742 Town and School retirees. The Benefits Administrator assists new employees with understanding and enrolling in the benefits available to them, including group health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability policies, and retirement plans. The Benefits Administrator also manages the accruals/paid leave for Town employees; processes benefits enrollments and cancellations; acts as a liaison between the insurance carriers and employees/retirees to ensure that the correct benefits are provided; administers all leaves of absence; reconciles and pays the vendor invoices for the Town and retiree benefits and resolves discrepancies; manages the Town's annual open enrollments and other benefit-related events; manages the workers' compensation and injured on duty programs; prepares a wide range of federal and state reports; and responds to inquiries regarding Town benefits policies and procedures. This position also provides a wide range of administrative and other work to support the Human Resources Director and the goals of the Department. This position regularly creates databases, spreadsheets, and customized documents and reports using advanced software skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, human resources, or a closely related field and a minimum of 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits administration in a municipal or professional office setting. Strong mathematical, analytical, software, and administrative skills, impeccable attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. In addition, the successful candidate has a high degree of professionalism, is tech savvy, and takes initiative but knows when to ask questions. MUNIS experience is ideal. EXPECTED STARTING RANGE: Step 1 ($32.93/hour) ? Step 4 ($36.41/hour), commensurate with qualifications and experience, with room to grow along the 10-step pay scale.
