Outside Sales Representative Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Waterbury BR9 - Waterbury, CT Position Type Full Time Travel Percentage Road Warrior Job Shift Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Job Category Sales Overview The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing assigned costumer accounts in their sales territory and increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors. The main duty of this role is traveling around the assigned territory to meet with potential and current customers, negotiating sales contracts and telling clients about new products, updates and features. Outside Salespersons are the face of the company and are expected to act through our company values. Essential Responsibilities Make courtesy daily and/or weekly sales and customer experience calls to existing customers and prospects and help them obtain what they need. Schedule in-person appointments to educate customers about our products or services. Play a key role in the development, management and growth of Torrco product lines and profitability. Identify and establish contact with potential customers, following up on potential sales leads and closing the sale. Maintain relationships with existing customers, update databases with current information. Recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market. May from time-to-time help branch managers by filling in at the counter/inside sales when short staffed. Will be required to develop an in-depth knowledge of our product lines and stay current on changes and improvements in the lines. Work actively with sales managers on account planning to grow the accounts and serve the customers better. Work collaboratively with all appropriate departments at Torrco as needed in order to formulate client solutions such as other salespersons, operations and purchasing. Provide pricing and product information to customers and prospects promptly and accurately. Deal with and follow through on customer inquiries and complaints. Goals:Job performance success is measured by sales and market growth results: product and customer segment sales growth and new business development in various product lines. It is also measured by solicited comments from our customers, Torrco employees, and suppliers as to the growth of Torrco as a competitor in the Plumbing/HVAC business. Qualifications: At least 4 years in a similar position. Ability to travel within a Torrco territory to visit customers as required or help fill in at other company branches if needed, must have a valid Driver's License. 2 years of industry (Plumbing/Piping/HVAC) applications experience preferred. Sales ability/persuasiveness, skilled at selling and promoting our product/product lines. Must possess a positive and professional attitude. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high volume sales environment and meet sales goals set by management. Excels in all individual and group communications with a variety of audiences, organizational levels, and external groups. Skilled at relationship building with colleagues, vendors, manufacturers and customers. Must be dependable, a team player, able to adapt to various work situations, a quick learner, and able to think on your feet. Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, ERP system & other communication systems. Other: Experience with Eclipse Solar or E-term a plus Compensation structure is an hourly wage paid weekly + monthly commission based on your sales.
