Position Overview: The Manager of Information Technology will be responsible for managing and maintaining the technological systems and networks within a leading electrical contractor. This role is accountable to drive best practices in IT systems, including new technologies, change management, and future capacity planning. The manager will connect with internal partners and external experts to support the business through most appropriate use of skills, tools, capabilities, and technology. The position will participate in strategic business planning, analysis, and risk assessments for newly identified technology opportunities. This position will ensure the efficiency, security, and functionality of all IT-related operations, aligning with the company's goals and industry standards. Base Location/Travel Requirements: Hybrid/Office assignment: York Office preferred with flexibility to work from another office and from home. Occasional travel as necessary to other offices or yard locations, trainings, and offsite meetings. Additional customer related travel may also be required at customer facilities. Essential Functions/Duties: IT Strategy and Planning Team Leadership and Development Project Management Security and Compliance Reporting and Analytics Evaluating and recommending solutions that will enable functional business efficiencies. Infrastructure Management, design, implementation, maintenance, including hardware, software, networks and telecommunications. Proactively forecast organizational needs, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, and recommend hardware, software, network, security, and cloud-based services. Advise on security plans and protocols to ensure security of data, network access and backup systems; implement back-up and disaster recovery procedures, information security and control structures. Technical Support and Troubleshooting. Create and execute tactical plans in alignment with organization and technical strategy. Assist VP of IT to analyze business needs, evaluate systems & technologies, assess ROI and champion implementation/adoption. Coordinate with other departments to develop and deliver training activities for existing, new, or emerging technologies. Monitor, maintain, and manage network architecture and key business systems. Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure all new employees have proper hardware and software resources. Manage technical aspects of communication and document management tools including MS Teams and SharePoint. Assist VP of IT to make recommendations for new/altered technologies that would contribute to overall cost savings and/or productivity improvements. Assist VP of IT in developing strategic plan and vision and capacity planning for meeting future technology needs. Cybersecurity and data protection, conduct regular security assessments and risk management to protect against potential threats. Stay updated with technological advancements and industry trends, integrating relevant innovations into the organization. Education, Skills, Experience: Minimum 8 years progressive experience in information technology, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role. Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Why Work for IB Abel?
