Sr. Consultant -Acoustics Department: Acoustics Location: White River Junction, VT Join our dynamic Acoustics team at RSG Our innovative approach combines advanced technology with comprehensive data analysis to help drive informed decision-making of our clients. We are seeking a dynamic project management professional with experience in any of these areas of focus: Underwater acoustics, Environmental acoustics, Renewable energy acoustics, Electric generation and distribution acoustics, Transportation acoustics and Vibration. You will collaboratively contribute to the development of innovative acoustics and noise control solutions. Currently most of our work is noise assessments for power distribution and generation, research, and environmental, and community noise. ( RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management Manage all stages of the project cycle including design, data management, analysis, and delivery. Develop project plans and effectively resource and manage plans to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with a high level of customer satisfaction. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure project deliverables and deadlines are met. Establish and maintain a consistent and effective communication mechanism to project teams, clients and company leadership. Maintain and provide ongoing progress reporting. Business Development Develop and maintain client relationships and networks to develop both repeat and new business; build brand awareness, and inform market strategies. Responsible for business development activities, which includes identifying opportunities and preparing winning proposals and budgets. Support leadership with data collection to inform business growth within existing and new markets. Participate in industry events, e.g., presentations, publications. Data Analysis Participate in the development and implementation of innovative analytics, research, and modeling. Staff Management Actively engage in training and development of staff members. May be responsible for directly supervising staff. KEY INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Analysts and Consultants: Builds relationships with junior staff across the firm, identifying skills and abilities needed to support projects. Will serve as a mentor and trainer to junior staff, identifying projects to build skill sets and careers. Project Team Members and Leaders: Serves as the project leader and continuously communicates and sets expectations with team members. Addresses roadblocks or issues necessary to meet project deliverables. Reports project progress and escalates issues as needed. Clients/Customers: Works closely to fully understand needs and ensure superior services are delivered. Through excellent work, build and maintain close relationships for ongoing or future business engagements. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Minimum of bachelor-s degree in relevant field of study 8+ years of experience in market research and analytics. PE and/or INCE Board Certification preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing projects, priorities, and deadlines Demonstrated experience with managing project teams and drive accountability for quality outcomes Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff (e.g. setting goals and providing feedback) Driven with an achievement orientation to develop new innovative processes in emerging fields Demonstrated professionalism and poise Familiarity with applicable national and international monitoring and modeling standards Experience conducting interior and exterior sound level measurements. Software tools such as Cadna/A and/or Soundplan Proficiency in relevant sound measurement techniques and equipment Experience doing live testimony Proven ability to provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers Demonstrated excellence in communications, both verbal and written. Advanced data management and analytics skills (e.g., SQL, Python, R) Demonstrated ability to develop new customer relationships and build business opportunities Demonstrated executive presence and ability to present in larger groups or forums Communicate complex technical materials in concise and meaningful ways to project team members and clients PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires periodic travel by air or road. Frequently involves standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Carry 50 lbs over uneven terrain to access measurement locations Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine or computer printer. Frequently communicates with colleagues and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. RSG is not currently accepting H-1B applicants for this position.
