Eligibility for company matching 401k benefit after 3 months of employment. This opportunity is for Baton Rouge, LA or within a 60 mile radius. The Field Technician - Joint Use is responsible for collecting detailed technical information about electric utility and telecommunications facilities and equipment. Responsibilities Work in an outdoor environment to collect data specific to client projects. Submit organized, detailed data for each project that may include maps, field notes, and digital images. Operate and maintain equipment that may include laptop, IKE device, tools and personal protective equipment. Work professionally, safely, and independent of supervision. Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the General Foreman. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent with a technical background preferred. A working proficiency with MS Excel/Word/Outlook Ability to travel up to 100% of the time and to work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions. Ability to follow process specifications and guidelines in an extremely quality focused environment. Experience using IKE equipment a plus. Knowledge of NESC requirements a plus. Basic knowledge of electric distribution and telecommunications systems a plus. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and-or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices. The incumbent may be subject to the following conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, noise, atmospheric elements, and hazards.
