Due to continued growth, W&M Fire Protection is looking to add a Fire Protection Project Manager to our team in Plantsville, CT. We are a full-service fire protection contractor with complete design, installation, and fabrication capability. W&M has proudly served the tri-state and New England areas for almost 30 years and offers a challenging and rewarding work environment. As a Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of executing impactful projects. In addition to managing the project lifecycle, you will play a crucial role in the estimation process, ensuring accurate bids and successful project delivery. Job Responsibilities: Contract Management: Maintain contract documents throughout the life of the project, ensuring all changes from bulletins, addenda, etc., are properly addressed and processed. Change Order Management: Communicate with site foremen to track and process change orders promptly, including regular follow-up with General Contractors (GC) and Construction Managers (CM) for updates. Coordination and Communication: Work closely with Designers to submit RFIs as needed and maintain continual communication with the GC/CM, providing regular status updates. Safety and Compliance: Perform weekly safety walkthroughs and site safety audits, documenting completion. Ensure weekly toolbox talks are completed and submitted to the Safety Manager. Project Meetings: Attend and participate in weekly jobsite meetings, communicating outcomes with the job designer and project team. Billing and Documentation: Collect timesheets from field personnel, perform monthly billing updates, and coordinate the submission of required job closeout documentation. Permits and Approvals: Submit necessary documentation and applications for construction permits as required, and maintain communication and coordination with fire marshals, including drawings and testing. Resource Management: Oversee weekly project manpower scheduling and manage material/equipment ordering and oversight for jobs, in coordination with designers and shop coordinators. WIP/CTC Updates: Assist in the preparation of monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) and Cost-To-Complete (CTC) updates for assigned jobs. Turnover Meetings: Attend turnover meetings with sales and design personnel for new jobs to ensure a smooth transition from planning to execution. Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the successful completion of projects. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in project management within the fire protection or construction industry. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or greater is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and NFPA standards. Experience with project management software, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and AutoCAD is a plus. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both clients and internal teams. Leadership: Proven ability to lead project teams, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with other trades. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues during the project lifecycle. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license is required.
