What you'll be doing: You will be supporting our West Springfield manufacturing plant, working cooperatively with the Production Manager, Butter Category Manager, Procurement Manager, and Supply Chain team to schedule and maintain an inventory of butter finished goods and associated raw materials. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining a tactical daily butter production schedule. You will balance finished good inventories between our two DC locations to best meet our customer?s needs and will also collaborate with the Butter Category Manager on creating the annual freezer build plan. This position has a dotted-line reporting structure to the Sourcing & Procurement Manager, and will be responsible for the creation of purchase orders for butter packaging and ingredients, maintaining price lists, processing acknowledgments and coordinating material and ingredient trials with Sourcing. You will be directly responsible for accuracy of raw material inventories and will oversee the raw material handling process at our West Springfield plant and Enfield DC. You will work on-site at the West Springfield plant and participate in site leadership meetings. Work closely with Production and Butter Category Managers to execute the creation of and revisions to a production schedule using MPS, milk balancing and/or demand plan forecasts. Maintain appropriate safety stock levels for branded and private label butter finished goods at our VT and CT distribution centers. Work collaboratively with Butter Category Manager on freezer build planning to balance plant capacity with seasonality of demand. Manage the release of butter from freezer program to offset fresh production. Maintain appropriate safety stock levels for branded and private label packaging and ingredients; works closely with Butter Category Manager to establish best practices for private label packaging management. Responsible for raw material inventories and handling process at our production and dry storage facilities. Supports the development of existing planning tools and processes, including but not limited to, working with IS to refine existing ERP tools or working with Procurement to expand best-practices for defective or non-conforming materials and ingredients. Serve as the on-site delegate representing the Supply Chain team at our West Springfield production facility. Requirements Bachelor's Degree Strong Excel skills, as well as, communication, strategic thinking and problem solving skills. Experience with capacity modeling and production scheduling for perishable food products 3+ years of experience in procurement, scheduling, inventory management, category management or supply chain management.
