SUMMARY: As a key member of the Kayem Leadership Team, the General Manager of the Fresh Meat Operation leads the Fresh Meat strategy, operations, people and food safety, business processes, manufacturing and distribution operations and the financial management of the fresh meat business. Directly supervises a team of Managers and Supervisors. This high impact contributor will deliver profitability with a combination of commercial strategy, operational and supply chain efficiencies, customer service and financial oversight and will establish measurement metrics and set performance targets for all plant functions with Kayem's strategic objectives and regulatory guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manufacturing Operations: Oversees the manufacture of food products, ensuring profitable on-time delivery of world class quality products Continuous Improvement: We seek someone who welcomes challenges in order to find success in a very fast-paced environment. You will analyze manufacturing processes and develop procedures to maximize productivity, minimize waste, errors and downtime and meet deliverables according to budget limitations and timetables. Sourcing and logistics strategy development, execution and oversight. Evaluates and negotiates with suppliers, works with QA to ensure quality being met, works with Logistics to optimize the supply chain and find efficiencies. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective communication with the executive team, managers, employees, and external stakeholders. Team Management: Leads manufacturing, quality, logistics and distribution, Maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing plant. Has responsibility for the P&L and budgets Strategic Planning: Assists the COO, CFO, and CEO with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to successfully problem solve in a growing, dynamic environment with changing priorities while maintaining discipline on key deliverables Strong analytical skills Cross functional project / program management and improvement experience Ability to understand and lead improvement of manufacturing processes, productivity, efficiencies and quality. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams. Change management experience. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Industrial engineering or related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing managerial experience. Strong knowledge of local, state, and Federal regulatory compliance requirements in Massachusetts.
