BDS is seeking a Salesforce Administrator to join the Legal Operations Team. BDS is a public defense office representing low-income New Yorkers in criminal, family, immigration, and civil legal matters. Our work with clients is focused on the intersection of the legal systems that disproportionately impact Black and Brown people living below the poverty level in Brooklyn. BDS represents thousands of people each year who have diverse, complex, and multi-faceted legal needs. In addition to a zealous legal defense, our interdisciplinary teams of attorneys, social workers and advocates provide a wide range of legal and advocacy services, including housing, public benefits, education, and employment issues. BDS is undertaking a multi-year project to implement a Salesforce based Legal Case (Matter) Management System spanning all of the organizations' units and tens of thousands of cases, both new and ongoing. Under the general direction of the Legal Technology Supervisor, the Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the implementation, administration, maintenance, testing and support of BDS's Salesforce environment. Responsibilities Support BDS's Salesforce-based Case Management system by handling the following functions including: Design and implement Salesforce configuration changes, including Flows, fields, page layouts, record types, and validation rules. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, plan, and build improvements, enhancements, and system customization that solve critical organizational needs. Administer users, profiles, permission sets, roles, and system access to maintain security and data integrity. Participate in Q/A testing and promote changes from sandboxes to production. Create and maintain reports and dashboards. Handle user support tickets; triaging and escalating as needed. Keep up-to-date end-user training materials and administrator system documentation. Maintain, prioritize, and report on user requests and issues backlog. Keep abreast of Salesforce and Litify system releases, features, and best practices, making recommendations to leaders about new features as appropriate. Manage Salesforce integrations, include integration with a third-party document management system. System administration of non-Salesforce applications as needed (e.g., Document Management System). Additional assignments as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 1-2 years of Salesforce administration experience. Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM201) required. Additional Salesforce certifications, e.g. Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder are a plus. Experience implementing features in Salesforce Lightning. Proficient in designing, building, and testing Flows that adhere to best practices. Understanding of the capabilities and constraints of Salesforce architecture, including sharing and security. Experience with, or interest in learning, Lightning Web Components or Apex is a plus. Experience implementing Salesforce in a multi-department/multi-business unit environment Understanding of legal services is a plus. Curiosity and ability to learn new business processes and functions. Business analysis and functional analysis experience, including requirements gathering and creating/deploying solutions to end users. Ability to prioritize work with limited resources. Strong problem-solving mindset. Strong verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. Position Information This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. The normal schedule is Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. The position is based at BDS's offices located in Downtown Brooklyn. BDS staff are required to be in the office three days per week and are able to work from home on other days, subject to their specific responsibilities. There is a salary range of $60,000-$80,000, depending upon the applicant's education and experience.
