Join our Family Essential Duties: % of Time Duties 20% Perform, support, and shadow RandD Department Collaborate with internal customers to meet a common goals Key areas for learning include: RandD product evaluations, product formulation, Product Blending, sample packaging, regulatory basics for labeling/development, new item setup in company software (MDM/JDE), DevEx (formulation and specification) Program. 75% Coordinate and assist in RandD initiatives and projects. Specific initiatives and projects will be identified prior to the start of the internship, based on business need and intern knowledge, skills, and abilities, based on the following projects. Product blending and sample packaging, product improvement, Ingredient Library Upkeep, raw material evaluations, shelf-life evaluations. Data entry for specifications. 5% Perform other internship-related duties as assigned Minimum Experience: Total Yrs. of Experience: Less than 1 year Additional information: Food Science or related major Sophomore level or higher classification Minimum Qualifications Education, Skills and Abilities: Minimum Formal Education: High School Diploma Bachelor Degree (in-process) Major: Food Science Skills and Abilities: 1) Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures, Reports potentially unsafe conditions, Uses equipment and materials properly. 2) Initiative: Volunteers readily, Seeks increased responsibilities, Asks for and offers help when needed. 3) Judgment: Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, Includes appropriate people in decision-making process. 4) Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, Works well in group problem solving situations. 5) Communication: Listens and gets clarification, Responds well to questions. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of process personnel. There will also be occasional standing, walking, and sitting. There is frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts Sensory: Specific vision requirements are close and color vision. The noise level for this position is usually moderate.
