This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing function. This position will report to Production Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Must follow all safety rules, regulations, operating procedures, work instructions, and corporate/plant policies & laws at all timesCorrectly fill out and maintain all paperwork that is used in conjunction with specific tasksPerforms batch and continuous operations as needed to produce finished productPerforms material handling operations; including being able to operate a fork truckSafely prepares equipment for maintenance operationsMaintain proper housekeeping/cleaning in area to ensure a safe working environment at all timesOperating process equipment to proper specifications by following established procedures and instructionsSafely handle numerous solid, liquid, and gas materials used in the production process by following established procedures and instructions. This includes maintaining all logs and paperwork associated with the production processSafely operate all process equipment used in the production of the finished productPerform handling and storage of hazardous waste materials properly and responsibility, while being trained in emergency procedures in the event of a hazardous spill during storage or transportation. Have knowledge of labels and containers for use with hazardous waste materialsPerform introductory and recurring training covered by regulatory and corporate requirementsPerform other duties as requiredIn order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:High school diplomaAbility to work rotating shifts (7 days a week), holidays, and overtime when necessaryTwo years of Industrial experience is requiredApplicant chosen must be able to pass physical requirements of the jobDemonstrated good troubleshooting and communication skills (written & verbal)Experience with DCS or other computer control systemsAble to work in a unionized facilityAble to lift 50 lbs.Must be authorized to work in the United StatesThe following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:Chemical manufacturing experienceIn more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
