Manager, Reliability Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Manager, Reliability who will be responsible for effective, timely, and safe execution of all reliability activities, change management, and assigned projects. Focus area for the Manager, Reliability is to provide strong leadership and technical expertise by fostering a culture of learning, teamwork, continuous improvement, and innovation, working in partnership with Operations and Global Plant Engineering (GPE). Key Duties: Develop reliability standards and promote best practices in collaboration with the plant maintenance, engineering, and operations teams with an emphasis on equipment criticality, equipment condition monitoring, effective planning, and scheduling, completing high quality maintenance repairs, and ensuring safety, health & environmental policies, and procedures. Manage the maintenance organization and responsible for leading direct reports, including hiring and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluations and goal setting; including skill development to provide improved reliability performance and service, establishing a skilled and competent work force focused on team building and problem solving. Follow and ensure compliance with all applicable safety policies, rules, and regulations. Ensure that all processes and equipment are properly maintained and kept in a safe working condition. Direct existing preventative and predictive maintenance work practices while continuously improving processes and methods to improve equipment performance, reliability, and lower maintenance costs. Work in partnership with the facility leadership to achieve facility objectives. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers in support of company-wide operations. Provide technical ownership and leadership as reliability subject matter expert (SME) for Allied's Columbus facilities. Develop and champion the maintenance budget process and foster partnerships in the cross-functional accountability of adhering to budgetary objectives. Ensure timely, thorough, and complete work order execution and traceability through CMMS. Utilize local resources, contractors, and suppliers to resolve complex maintenance challenges. Manage maintenance parts inventory stocking levels and usage. Support the implementation of Digitization and Automation projects for predictive maintenance and condition monitoring. Identify opportunities to integrate hardware/sensors, software, and data acquisition tools to develop and manage IoT/Industry 4.0 applications for data analysis and performance improvements. Analyze operational data and equipment performance history (OEE) to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics: unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between-Failures, and maintenance costs. Maintain excellent lines of communication with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, other Allied departments, and our affiliates. Independently maintain technical knowledge and remain current on emerging technologies. Qualifications A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience required. 5 - 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 3 - 5 years of supervision desired. Reliability Engineering background required. Results driven individual with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills desired to engage effectively and collaboratively across the organization to drive the best outcomes and achieve business objectives. Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving skills with knowledge across maintenance, engineering, and operations, including: Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Risk Based Maintenance, Risk-Based Inspection, (RCM, RBI) methodologies. Predictive Maintenance, Digitization and Automation methodologies and tools. Lean Manufacturing Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) desired. Willing to be a hands-on member of the maintenance team for the purposes of training and support. Must be proficient with mechanical and electrical equipment installation and repair. Experience in facilities maintenance, inventory control, and fabrication desired. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, familiarity with OSHA guidelines, strong troubleshooting skills. Must demonstrate good communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CMMS systems and Rockwell Automation software beneficial. Familiarity with SAP a plus. Working Environment Office work environment Frequent exposure to Allied's manufacturing facilities, which may include dusty, hot, or cold conditions. Required to follow Allied Mineral Products' Safety & Health policy and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate.
