ABOUT YOU As an HVAC Mechanic (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 537), you demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC maintenance and repair, utilizing your skills to ensure the optimal functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout Massport structures. With a focus on problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective time management, you proactively respond to repair calls, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues using computer-based service tools. Collaborating with airport personnel, you prioritize safety, adhere to established procedures, and contribute to the overall mission of providing a safe and efficient airport environment for passengers and staff. What you will do: Swiftly attend to repair calls with a sense of urgency to ensure timely resolution of HVAC issues. Take immediate action to repair and restore functionality to fans, blowers, motors, filters, belts, AC vents, ducts, and water systems, either by personally performing corrective measures or engaging the appropriate party for assistance. Monitor and fine-tune the air handling system, ensuring optimal performance by making necessary adjustments as needed. Utilize computer-based service tools to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems, employing cutting-edge technology for accurate diagnosis and efficient repairs. WHAT YOU OFFER Ability to read; demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical and manual skills; and operate machinery. 3 - 5 years' experience in commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and HVAC Systems maintenance and service.
