Responsible for maintaining a skilled workforce to support the build, test, commissioning, and maintenance of IMA Life equipment. 2. Responsible for timely reporting of project status in terms of time scales, costs and within the quality system. 3. Responsible along with the rest of the Tonawanda management team for effective, courteous, and responsive actioning of customer requests. 4. Responsible for ensuring the specifications laid down by the engineering department are correctly transferred to the build of the product, while adhering to required legislative and customer standards. 5. Responsible for the planning and control of load and capacity. In so doing, the selection, hiring, training, evaluation and promotion of personnel is performed without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap, or veteran status. 6. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of Company rules and associated disciplines as related to the direct workforce and others under supervisory control. 7. Responsible along with all employees for acting at all times in a manner which promotes the health and safety of all personnel in direct and indirect employ, visitors to IMA Life and users of IMA Life equipment. 8. Ensure that the building and the company owned equipment remain in good repair and are able to utilize as and when required. This includes managing an effective preventative maintenance program, administering facility service contracts, coordinating project utility requirements, and acting as the liaison with the property landlord. 9. Has responsibility for coordinating manpower and external services to ensure that IMA Life industrial freeze dryers are assembled/fabricated within established cost, time scale, quality and safety requirements. In addition, has responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the Company owned equipment and overseeing the leased facility. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Knowledge and experience of the operating principles and procedures of a manufacturing operation, including aspects of engineering, purchasing, materials control, and establishment. 2. First-hand experience in discussions and negotiations with customers during the specification, design, construction, and testing of large, technically complex industrial plant. 3. Extensive experience in the control and reporting of $ multi-million capital intensive projects having international dimensions. 4. Knowledge of the mechanics of the freeze-drying process in pharmaceutical applications and the associated plant, control, and legislative parameters. 5. Experience in the design of equipment for use under sterile/aseptic conditions. 6. Extensive experience in build, test, and commissioning of industrial process plant. 7. A Bachelors degree in an engineering or related discipline is preferred, with at least five years experience; two years of which should have involved front end supervisory and/or project management experience. OR an Associate Degree with 15 years of experience. 8. Clear people management capabilities should be evident. Personality traits should include forcefulness and pleasant aggression, ambition, enthusiasm, tact and diplomacy, perseverance, tenacity, good international communicating skills, and a sense of humor.
