Configuration Specialist - 12601 POSITION SUMMARY The Configuration Specialist coordinates with the business analyst or application consultant and/or client and analyzes the proposed configuration of the software platform. The position is responsible for the end-product design, function and moves the design into a custom configured solution and tests the set-up and prepares it for customer UAT and provides general maintenance to system. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Consults with business analyst and/or client to implement client requirements into custom configured solution. Analyzes product design and converts concept into a configuration. Creates reliable and independently verified custom configurations, based on instructions from business analyst and/or client. Optimizes vulnerabilities in existing configuration. Removes configuration errors and implements configuration customizations. Tests and evaluates system set-up and prepares it for customer UAT. Performs general maintenance of systems (revisions/updates/upgrades). Provides first level help-desk support to clients for system problems. Delivers system training to key users. Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field 2+ years of previous IT related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required. High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. Working knowledge of HTML, Java, My SQL, PHP preferred. Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and management. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear and see. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
