2nd Shift Slitting Line Operator - 2NDSH002878 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Summary The Slitter Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the slitting line to meet job specifications and ensure high-quality production. This role involves reading work orders, adjusting machine settings, and monitoring machine operation to detect and address defects or malfunctions. Job Responsibilities Read Work Orders: Interpret job specifications from work orders to determine necessary machine adjustments and material requirements Set Up Machine: Adjust stops or guides to the specified length using scales, rules, or templates Activate Machine: Use controls to start the machine, either by pressing a button or depressing a pedal Monitor Operation: Observe machine operation to identify workpiece defects or malfunctions Measure Dimensions: Verify workpiece dimensions to ensure machine accuracy and product quality Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a production process, preferably in the metals industry Slitter Operator Experience: Prior experience as a slitter operator is preferred Skills: Proficiency in reading measuring devices Basic math skills Basic computer knowledge Detail-oriented with the ability to inspect materials for quality Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
