Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks to fill the position of Executive Director in New York, NY.Partner with the Firm's Investment Management Business Units and Control Groups to proactively identify, assess, challenge and drive mitigation of Operational Risks within the division. Play an active role in Governance, including Global IM Operational Risk Committee: presenting Risk Management updates (as applicable) and providing risk management insight, review and challenge. Identify areas of emerging or heightened risk. Scope and lead risk assessments, directing and performing critical analysis as necessary to ascertain and recommend remediation actions. Perform deep dives and Lessons Learned exercises into material operational risk events (internal and external) and analyses of thematic operational risks. Lead Scenario Analysis activities where significant and emerging risks are assessed. Lead the review and approval of new products and new activities originating from the Investment Management Business. Work collaboratively in a high performing global team responsible for identifying, assessing, reporting, and capturing operational risk information. Requires a Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a VP/Director of Operational Risk, or a related occupation. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Performing data analytics and reporting on operational risk framework components, including: incidents and issues, risk taxonomy, risk & control self-assessment (RCSA), metrics, and key risk indicators; Chairing Risk Committees and working groups to review, approve and / or escalate material risk issues and initiatives; Distilling risk and data insights and presenting observations to drive business risk decisions; Driving operational risk management process improvements in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices; Transforming and providing subject matter recommendations to standardize the operational risk framework and its components across its different offices; Drafting guidance notes, providing interpretations on policies and procedures, and socializing changes across stakeholders; Drafting global policies and / or procedures to drive the Firm's strategic initiatives; Using Excel formulas (IF, INDEX, MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDIRECT), and Pivot Tables to conduct data analytics on operational risk framework components (including: errors and incidents); and Ensuring operational readiness for all new product launches and drive product committee approvals.
