We're looking to recruit an energetic and highly organized graduate as an Editorial Assistant to support our Research Publishing editorial teams in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS).The Editorial Assistant provides a vital role in supporting the Editorial team by ensuring that our authors receive a high quality of service, that our books are published to the highest standards, driving our authors satisfaction and reputation as a market and thought leader while we operate on highly efficient workflows.As well as providing core support to the Editorial teams, the role involves building excellent working relationships with internal teams such as production, and day-to-day administration.ResponsibilitiesDatabase and systems managementHandle one or more series independentlyHandle a wide range of editorial tasks including contracting, peer review process, manuscript development and handover to production, and post-publication tasksLiaise with authors/editors to manage the content development from signing to publicationAdvice authors/editors on procedures, house style, and manuscript preparationLiaise with production and vendors in ensuring that the titles are published as per agreed deadlinesLiaise with colleagues in different Centers of Excellence, Open Access, Editorial Rights, Author Services on a routine basisExperience, skills and qualificationsExperience from a professional activity in editorial/publishing or university degree, preferably in a relevant field of studyHave excellent team-working skills to deal with people within the company and externally at all levelsBe a diplomatic and assertive individual who is able to work with demanding stakeholdersBe able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and be able to work on their own initiativeBe resourceful and proactive in dealing with problems and queriesBe able to demonstrate good publishing business awareness and the ability to learn quicklyHave excellent verbal and written communication skills and be numerate and IT systems-literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with a sharp eye for detailPreferably have experience working in academic publishing in an entry-level editorial roleFluencyin English, both verbal and writtenSpringer Nature US provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes the benefit offerings listed below:Medical, Dental and Vision401(k) with company match and contributionHybrid office working policy, Summer Hours, and paid time offFlexible Spending and Commuter programsMultiple Life insurance optionsDisability coverageTuition AssistanceVoluntary benefits: Identity Theft Protection, Pet Insurance, and Legal Assistance InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFamily friendly benefits and a variety of employee discountsAn array of Employee Social NetworksUS Annualized Base Salary Range: $36,190 - 40,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity.
