Summary: This role will provide comprehensive HR support throughout the employee lifecycle for the employees located within the assigned territories. Will provide support to management in the area of recruitment and onboarding, retention, performance management, and conflict management. The HR Generalist will balance employee advocacy and business operating needs, promote equitable treatment and positive employee relations. The HR Generalist will partner with business operational leaders to fully understand business issues, how HR can best support achieving results, and build relationships for organizational effectiveness. Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. 20%HR Business Partnership: Serve as a dedicated HR Point of Contact fostering strong relationships with managers and employees. Provide expert HR Guidance and support on various HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Refers difficult or very complex issues to the CHRO as needed. Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to promote a fair and inclusive work environment. Conduct Training sessions for employees and managers (as needed) to promote HR Best practices and compliance with East Coast Tile Group practices and procedures. Collaborate with other HR team members and leverage their expertise in delivering and implementing functional initiatives. Participates in staff meetings and works to expand the level of knowledge in all HR disciplines through on-the-job training, in-house training, self-study, and outside training as available. 20%Recruitment and Onboarding Assists in managing the employment and onboarding process, including the following: posting and distribution of open positions, assisting field with writing and placing advertisements, facilitation of pre-employment background screening and assistance with on-boarding, new employee orientation, and designated training. Supports recruiting, interviewing, and testing processes. Administers the pre-employment screening processes. Supports new employee onboarding processes. 20%Employee Engagement & Support: Promote a positive and inclusive work culture that values diversity and encourages employee engagement. Conduct employee satisfaction/ new hire surveys and facilitate action plans based on feedback in partnership with senior HR Leadership. Support Employee Recognition Programs 15%Leave Administration: Provide expertise in all Leave related matters by coordinating internal (employees, managers & HR/Payroll) and external communications regarding FMLA, PFL, personal leave, disability events and insurance carrier regarding FMLA, PFL and disability claims, and Worker's Compensation Claims. Responsible for coordinating employee reasonable accommodation requests under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by facilitating the interactive process for all ADA reasonable accommodation requests. Documents the accommodation and distributes the information to the team member and their manager. Coordinate and track leave requests actively communicating with employees, managers, and third-party leave administrators regarding leave processes, eligibility, and documentation requirements. Ensure third-party leave administrators has completed and responded to all leaves and appropriately managed process flow for multiple concurrent leaves per our contractual guidelines. Continuously learn about new state programs and processes 15%Employee Engagement: Researching best practices to engage and retain employees Creation of videos and articles celebrating new hires, anniversaries, retirements, and employee spotlights Develop and maintain a point-based reward system to increase engagement and retention 5%Compliance and Reporting: Stay up to date with relevant federal, state and local employment laws and regulations in assigned territories. Ensure HR Policies and Practices comply with all legal requirements and industry best practices. Brings compliance-related concerns to the attention of the CHRO. Attends meetings and provides back-up support in the department as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. This may include special projects as they arise. Qualifications: HR Certification preferred but not required Demonstrated considerable knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Solid working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills. Superior communication, both oral and written, cooperation, and organizational skills. Excellent HRIS, MS Office/Google Suite skills. Candidate must be physically able to lift up to 10 pounds, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements Education/Experience: One of the following combinations: A bachelor's degree and at least 2 or more years of Human Resources experience,or Associate degree and 3 or more years of HR experienceor HR Certified (or close to becoming certified) and 4 or more years of HR experience Qualifications: HR Certification Preferred Demonstrated considerable knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
