IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION, YOU MUST APPLY THROUGH OUR WEBSITE: The position will have a regular schedule of working between 7am and 5pm and the successful candidate will identify at least 23 hours per week on 4 days of the week (M-F). There may be times when the schedule may require more hours per week or less hours. $17.21 - $18.22 per hour Successful applicant will perform a wide variety of activities associated with maintaining a diversity of live plant specimens to assist Biology faculty, undergraduate students and graduate students with teaching and research activities dependent on the greenhouse. Activities span from ordering and setting-up labs to supporting research materials for undergraduate, graduate and faculty projects in the greenhouse. The position is responsible for maintaining and propagating a variety of plants and managing the greenhouse facility to ensure the success of the Biology teaching and research activities in the greenhouse. In order to successfully support research and teaching, the Greenhouse Manager will Ensure general plant maintenance ranging from propagation, fertilizing, pruning, transplanting and re-potting. Monitor and control insects and diseases on plants; maintain current Pesticide Applicators certification. General greenhouse cleaning, organizing, upkeep and maintenance. Submit work-orders for equipment repair. Serve as the liaison between greenhouse and UNO facilities. Sourcing supplies/inventory control. Support teaching and research lab set-up inside and outside greenhouse. Train student workers and schedule their hours. Support student projects located in greenhouse.
