Primary Purpose of Position: The Vice President of Human Resources (HR) will report directly to the President/CEO and will have responsibility for the direction, strategy, planning and execution for North Shore Community Health's HR organization to include Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Organizational Development and Training, HR Operations and Human Resources Compliance. This executive will be expected to be a key business partner to the CEO and the rest of the Leadership Team, aiding in the development and execution of NSCH's strategic plan and long-term business strategy, including becoming an anti-racist organization. The successful candidate is a strategic, critical thinking leader who has the right balance of strategic business acumen and functional expertise and will be a working day to day manager, partnering with the HR staff to support the staff at NSCH. The Vice President of HR will serve as a business partner to the President & CEO and will work in close partnership with the Leadership and Human Resources Teams to develop and implement a human-centered and patient-centered vision as an organization that positions NSCH as an employer of choice and attracts essential talent, ensures staff are highly engaged in the mission, work and culture of the organization. Essential Functions: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall NSCH strategic plan. Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on all human resource matters. Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive HR plans, programs, and initiatives to support organizational goals. Lead efforts to recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and highly qualified workforce. Oversee talent management processes including succession planning, leadership development, and career pathing. Ensure the implementation of effective training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance. Drive organizational development initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and employee buy-in during organizational changes. Develop and oversee performance management systems to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance issues, conflict resolution, and employee relations matters. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction. Oversee the development and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs. Ensure compensation practices are fair, equitable, and aligned with market standards. Manage relationships with benefits providers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective benefits offerings. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HR policies and identify areas for improvement. Oversee HR operations including benefits administration, and HRIS management. Implement and manage HR technology solutions to improve efficiency and data management. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HR metrics and analytics. Lead and mentor the HR team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Non-Essential Functions: Attends periodic staff meetings. Adheres to NSCH policies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred. At least 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including management experience. Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices, including benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, and compliance. Successful record as a close and trusted advisor to the CEO and the executive team. Successful record in leading corporate culture & values initiatives in support of corporate strategy. Broad knowledge and understanding of all areas of HR and how to maintain legal compliance of HR systems and practices. Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to supervise and develop staff. Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Ability to work in administration office two or more days per week.
