Plant Maintenance Welder - 1st Shift Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Corporate Headquarters - St Louis, MO Travel Percentage None Job Shift 1st Shift Description Fabricate furnaces, material handling, heat treat fixtures, and other equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and specifications utilizing knowledge of welding, mechanical, and piping systems. Key Responsibilities: Weld metal parts together using MIG / TIG welding equipment or any combination of the arc welding processes to fabricate metal items such as, guide brackets, small machine parts, etc. and repair of damaged metal equipment components. Determining correct filler materials needed to join various base metals. Common materials worked with are mild steel, stainless steel (304, 316, and 330), and Aluminum. Brazing or Soldering of brass and copper components. Gas or Liquid-tight welding of tanks and barrels. (No pressure vessels or ASME applications) Ability to read and understand mechanical and fabrication prints consisting of assembly instructions and weld symbols. Perform mechanical troubleshooting, installing, and repairing. Lay out welding project designs on material using scribe, chalk, or template. Provide input into the design of items to be fabricated. Learn to operate new equipment or tools when added to the department. Install and move machinery, equipment, and systems within the plant according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings, using a hoist, forklift, power tools, and hand tools. Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, plant machinery, equipment, and the building using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments. Unload fabrication materials from carrier and transport to proper storage areas by mechanical means. Travel to and participate in job-related meetings, conventions, training, etc. Such travel may require overnight stays of one or more nights. Qualifications Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. One-year technical training in welding or related area. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, including THC. License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo's Vehicle Use Policy. Must be able to obtain a Forklift certification.
