Job SummarySetup Mechanic II sets up and repairs a variety of fabricating machines and equipment. Works independently within established procedures. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment performance, safety, and effectiveness.Job DutiesSets up and repairs machinery and equipment following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications. Utilizes hand and power tools to repair or replace defective parts, materials, or equipment. Mounts, aligns, and bolts fixtures, dies, and welding heads onto fabricating machines. Performs startup and shutdown of equipment. Adjusts and sets controls to ensure proper machine operation and timing. Runs sample products and examines samples for possible production defects. Makes appropriate adjustments necessary to meet requirements. Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled. Complete routine maintenance of equipment. Assists senior Setup Mechanics with complex maintenance duties. Works with technician in observing mechanical devices in operation to troubleshoot. Dismantles, examines and inspects all machines and parts for repair purposes. Will occasionally load heavy materials to machine. Assists with training newer mechanics in minor adjustments, repairs, and operations. Assists with general maintenance. May need to cover another shift temporarily as production or staffing needs require. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment municationAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization, using a proper tone and in a professional manner.Skills/Technical SkillsProficiency in multiple or all of the following skills competencies: Automation, Calibration, Equipment Maintenance, Failure Analysis, Machine Operation, Manufacturing Support, Numerical Control, Production Support, Refurbishment, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Human Machine Interfacing (HMI), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), puter skills necessary to operate the system maintenance program and operations software.KnowledgeBasic tool, electrical, and safety knowledge. Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge required. Understands regulated type industries. Knowledge of medical device manufacturers and supplies is a plus. World-class manufacturing.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs using good posture and lifting techniques, if object is at an awkward angle or height, a 2 person lift or assist device should be used. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. A Fitness for Duty Examination may be required upon return from a medical leave of absence or when otherwise job-related and consistent with business necessity.EducationMinimum of a High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or its non-US secondary education equivalent. 2 years certificate from an accredited college or technical school preferred.Experience 3-5 years related experience; or 2 year certificate combined with 2 years' industrial mechanic experience. Minimum Salary: 27.54 Maximum Salary: 32 Salary Unit: Hourly
