Observes for changes in assigned patients' condition and reports this information to the Registered Nurse/Nurse Supervisor in a timely fashion;Compliance: The patient care associate will meet the New York State Department of Health regulations, standards of practice, OSHA, and other relevant standards. The PCA will interpret, implement, and be in compliance with all established procedures/regulations including patient rights, DNV, and HIPPA. Documentation will be accurate and timely to meet required clinical standards and support financial accountability. Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions within the Scope of Practice;Safety: Maintains a clean and hazard free environment while performing safe techniques. Utilize the chain of command accordingly to report concerns regarding safety, staffing, patients, quality, and potential emergency situations. Apply emergency protocols as necessary;Quality: Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Participates in the measurement and monitoring of key processes to include, but not limited to, threats to patient safety, medications, operative procedures, adverse events, infection prevention, and customer satisfaction;Professionalism: Compliance with health requirements, in-service, regulations, and organizational/ departmental policies. Maintains professional growth and development by keeping abreast of the latest developments in appropriate area(s) of expertise through seminars, workshops, conferences, continuing educations, and orientation programs. Consistent demonstration of courteous, professional behavior;Organizational Standards: The patient care associate will meet Standards of Performance and comply with Human Resource policies. The PCA must be able to handle multiple priorities, act swiftly in all situations, and apply critical thinking skills. Be able to follow direction and adhere to delegation of duties to efficiently manage patient care. Follows established department and organizational policies, procedures, objectives, quality management, ISO 9001 standards, safety, environmental and infection control.
