Applications are being accepted for the following vacancies for the Spring 2025 semester on the Faculty staff of Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. Department: Education and Social Sciences Instructor - Sociology HV-FAC-8853 Full Time Tenured Track Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree in Sociology or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university and previous college teaching experience. Ability to teach on campus classes during the daytime. Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching online, hybrid, and in person classes. Ability to teach in other social science areas. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instruction in sociology including teaching introduction to sociology and additional sociology courses at the 100 level. Teach in other social science areas as needed. Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College. Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development as well as transfer course review. Participate in departmental, division wide, and/or college wide committees. At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract. The Salary for this academic year position is $52,000.00.
