Event Audio Visual Technician Print ( Apply  Event Audio Visual Technician Salary $58,500.00 Annually Location St. Bonaventure, NY Job Type Full Time Job Number 202200430 Division Finance & Administration Department Events & Conferences Opening Date 08/27/2024 Description Benefits Description Under the supervision or direction of the Office of Events and Conferences, organizes and performs technical support for events managed by the Office of Events and Conferences that are held on campus including, special events, conferences, admissions events, welcome days, orientations and external rentals. The Event Audio Visual Technicians primary responsibility will be the operation of audio/video presentation and lighting equipment in support of live production for internal and external events managed by the Office of Events and Conferences. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of digital signage displays and support of in-house media production. Assists in the safe operation and maintenance of sound, lighting, rigging, screens and related equipment and systems. Examples of Duties Plan, organize and implement the maintenance and operation of performance related equipment including house sound system, control panels, digital mixers, microphones, speakers, special effects apparatus, lights, portable sound system(s) and fixed or portable video projection equipment and live streaming equipment for internal and external events managed by the Office of Events and Conferences 40% Program sound equipment, lighting equipment and other technical systems in advance of performance and productions, troubleshoot and resolve problems with equipment.20% Serve as technical onsite representative for groups using facilities; coordinate with personnel and other organizations using the facility to determine technical requirements. 30% Monitor the condition of the equipment, including lighting, sound and rigging equipment. Coordinate the repair and replacement of production equipment, including lighting and sound equipment. Organize and clean all audio and visual equipment areas at the conclusion of each event. Ensure that proper safety procedures and practices are followed during events.10% Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Possess good organizational skills and able to communicate effectively. Certification and/or Licensure N/A Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to balance priorities to accomplish assigned tasks within the required timeframe and to be able to shift quickly between several tasks without loss of continuity. Solid conceptual, innovative and strategic thinking ability with the ability to define and articulate strategic vision of the university. Advanced knowledge of video/broadcast operations, sound, lighting, and computer software; Microsoft Office; internet and other business operations. Self-motivated to stay current with emerging technologies and recommend and implement improvements. Ability to work under pressure, time constraints and deadlines. Handle highly confidential material, understanding that all University information should only be disclosed to others who have a need to know, for legitimate business or educational reasons. Have the ability to exercise and apply sound judgment and decision making skills as well as the ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of data. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Physical strength/endurance to enable him/her to perform/participate in the following activities: Physically able to lift various materials up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. While performing required job tasks, physically able to remain seated, frequently to continuously. While performing required job tasks, physically able to remain standing up to 15% of the time. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform typing, operate a computer and other office equipment, to perform filing, and related job responsibilities.
