Payroll and Accounting Specialist Council: Girl Scouts Of Eastern Massachusetts Job Location: MA - Andover Salary Range: Not Available Employment Type: Full-Time (Regular) Job #: 8377 Post Date: 8/28/2024 Job Summary Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Payroll and Accounting Specialist at Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, based in Andover, MA, is a full-time, non-exempt role focused on processing bi-weekly payroll in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in pay, withholding taxes, and deductions. Additional responsibilities include reviewing payroll related tax and deduction reports, maintaining payroll records, payroll related accounting entries, and preparing management reports. Financial department duties will include accounting, performing financial analyses, and supporting audits for Worker's Comp, 403B, and Fiscal Year-End, all while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. This position will have a hybrid work arrangement with work from home 2 days per week; 3 days per week in GSEMA's Andover, MA office; occasional work days in GSEMA's Waltham office, or as directed. Explore the Key Responsibilities: Process and validate bi-weekly payroll using ADP WorkforceNow. Handle payroll inquiries and resolve issues for employees. Ensure compliance with payroll tax filings and reporting. Provide back up support for daily accounting tasks (e.g. accounts payable, general ledger). Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records. Assist in preparing for audits and maintaining compliance with financial policies. Job Qualifications Five years of payroll experience; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is highly desired. At least two years of accounting experience; college-level accounting courses are a plus. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); experience with is ideal Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills, processes and software. High attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written. Capable of planning, organizing, and prioritizing work independently and collaboratively, while managing competing priorities Effective problem-solving skills.
