Location: Morrisville, NY Category: Administrative and Professional Staff Posted On: Wed Sep 18 2024 Job Description: Campus Title: Assistant Director of Admissions State Title: Assistant Director of Admissions Department: Admissions Department Bargaining Unit: UUP-08; view our generous state benefits summary here ( Professional Rank and Salary Range: SL-4; $63,000 - 65,000 Duration: Calendar Year (this position follows a 12-month schedule) Brief Description of Duties: SUNY Morrisville Office of Admissions is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Assistant Director of Admissions. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, this full-time position will focus on the operational management of the Office of Admissions and play a critical role in the planning and execution of major recruitment events. As a key member of the College's admissions professional staff, the Assistant Director will lead initiatives that enhance the campus visitation experience, drive enrollment through targeted events, and support the overall strategic goals of the Admissions Office. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Event Management and Coordination: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major admissions events, including Open House, Accepted Student Days, and specialized recruitment events throughout the academic year. Collaborate with academic departments, student services, and other campus units to create engaging and informative event programming that highlights SUNY Morrisville's unique offerings. Oversee event logistics, including scheduling, space reservations, technology needs, and staffing to ensure seamless and impactful experiences for prospective students and their families. Develop and implement new event concepts to attract and engage diverse student populations, enhancing the College's visibility and appeal to prospective students. Operational Management: Oversee the Student Ambassador Program, including recruitment, training, and scheduling of student ambassadors to support campus tours and events. Coordinate the fall and spring recruitment travel schedules for the admissions team, ensuring comprehensive coverage of key markets and alignment with the College's enrollment goals. Manage the campus visitation experience, ensuring that all prospective students have a positive and informative interaction with the campus community. Recruitment and Territory Management: Assist with the review of applications and conduct prospective student appointments for the assigned territory, providing personalized guidance and support to applicants. Participate in outreach and recruitment activities, both on and off campus, to build relationships with prospective students, high school counselors, and other key stakeholders. Utilize the College's SIS and CRM systems (Elucian Banner, Slate preferred) to manage and analyze recruitment data, track event attendance, and inform strategic decisions. Strategic Collaboration and Innovation: Work collaboratively with the Director of Admissions and other campus leaders to align recruitment events and initiatives with the College's strategic goals. Analyze recruitment and event data to identify trends, measure success, and recommend improvements to future events and outreach efforts. Innovate and lead efforts to engage stop-out students and other at-risk populations, utilizing events and targeted communication to encourage re-enrollment. Other Duties: Attend and represent SUNY Morrisville at various recruitment events, including college fairs, high school visits, and community outreach programs. Stay informed of best practices in admissions and recruitment and apply this knowledge to enhance the effectiveness of the College's outreach efforts. Contribute to the overall success of the Admissions Office by performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree Valid driver's license Experience with an SIS and CRM (Elucian Banner, Slate preferred) Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed Experience in campus recruitment Supervision experience Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated computer literacy Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. A customer service-oriented attitude. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of admissions professionals and student workers. Experience in event planning and management within a higher education setting.
