The computer services team at Stark State College is seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator role will be responsible for the administration, maintenance (install and configuration), management, and support of the college's IT infrastructure (new and existing), including servers (physical and virtual), networks, and systems (Windows & Linux). The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, security, and efficient operation of all IT systems that support core organizational functions. This role is expected to provide server application support to other IT staff members and end users as necessary. Salary Range: $62,692 - $81,500 Stark State College offers a competitive salary based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, including an exceptional benefits package. Location of Work: This position is a remote/hybrid (work from home) position with one day a week scheduled in the North Canton (Main Campus) office. Typical Hours: 8:00a - 4:30p, Mon-Fri; some flexibility required to include after hours upgrades and support. If you have experience in installation, management and upgrade of physical and virtual servers, have worked in Active Directory environments with 1000+ users and have experience with anti-virus and backup technologies within a large business environment we'd love to hear from you. Typical Responsibilities Include: Responsible for server based applications such as anti-virus solutions, backup software, and other server based applications. Implements and oversees server and storage policies to ensure the integrity and availability of the College computing resources.Responsible for ensuring that the College's server and storage environment is capable of meeting the College community's current and future needs. Maintains the College server environment in support of both student and business computing needs to include: Antivirus protectionData backups and retentionSoftware patches and upgrades for server based systemsSpecialized server based application Creates and maintains documentation for disaster recovery and server systems and procedures.Participates in rotating on-call schedule to provide 24x7x365 Tier 3 support for critical business systems. Click here to review the full job description To be Considered You'll Need: Associate degree in Computer Science or related fieldValid Ohio Driver's License with an insurable driving recordMinimum of 1 year of experience with Microsoft Entra/Azure AD: Demonstrated expertise in managing and administering Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), including identity and access management, single sign-on (SSO), multifactor authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies. Minimum of 3 years of extensive information technology experience in system and server administration. We define this experience as having the following background: Experience with installation, management and upgrade of physical and virtual servers running Windows and Linux operating systems in a production environment. Experience with enterprise level backup solutions in a business environment. Experience managing an Active Directory environment with 1000+ users including Group Policy and Sites and Services.
