We are currently seeking motivated candidates for a Full Time Loss Prevention Specialist at our Home Office in Auburn Hills. Position Purpose: Provide administrative and clerical support for the Loss Prevention team and management. Assist in overseeing and maintaining Credit Union products and reports pertaining to the protection of Credit Union assets. Provide support to the Direct Manager. Job Duties (include but not limited to): Review and process cases assigned through the Credit Union's Verafin system. Collect on accounts where fraud has been perpetrated against the Credit Union. Assist with research of potential fraud or verified fraud on Credit Union accounts or loans. Assist members with fraudulent activity on their accounts in order to minimize losses. Identify accounts that have a potential to cause a Credit Union loss. Provide support in working with local law enforcement in providing information on fraud related cases. Provide support in representing the Credit Union in legal matters pertaining to fraud. Review and perform necessary hold functions pertaining to Shared Branch, ATM and On-Line deposit reports. Update account history with payment information received from members/attorneys and agencies. Maintain adequate records of activity in the Credit Union's collection records. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent and some college business courses. Required Knowledge: Knowledge of collection procedures and related laws and regulations. Understanding of Credit Union loan products, policies and procedures. Familiar with default and enforcement clauses. Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit reports, loan documents, court correspondences, tag cards, etc. Familiar with deposit programs, account ownership, and casualty insurance. Basic understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Thorough knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including Anti-Money Laundering (ACL); Customer Identification Program (CIP); and Customer Due Diligence (CDD); to ensure compliance with current regulations BSA Specific Requirements: Understand compliance and attend training related to the position including, but not limited to, The Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. Understand Bank Secrecy Act forms and procedures to include Suspicious Activity Reports. Monitor and report suspicious activity. Notify the BSA Officer of any suspicious activities. Experience Required: Collection experience and/or training helpful Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills. Must possess strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong research and problem resolution skills. Results-oriented with the ability to work independently. Able to make quality decisions as an individual. Excellent typing skills and able to operate related computer applications. Willingness to assist and support others.
