Find your story in our books Publicity professionals generate exposure and 'buzz' for new books and are the biggest advocates of the titles to the media. Publicists pitch newspapers, television, radio stations, websites and bloggers with the hope the press will review our titles and feature stories about forthcoming books and authors. Publicists also help create social media outreach, author tours, author signings, readings, and other events. Some responsibilities may include: Researching media contacts Crafting pitches for publicity campaigns Tracking media coverage and mailing books to media contacts Assisting in select publicity book mailings (remotely) Attending team meetings to help brainstorm new outlets or contacts to pitch our books INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children's, and corporate divisions. Interns will have the opportunity to learn how to create publicity campaigns, develop skills in publicizing books and receive robust training from our publicity teams to support professional growth. Our interns are also exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, and networking events What you study does not matter We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry. Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $21/hour. Application Deadline: October 13th 2024 at 11:59pm EST Program Dates: June 9th, 2025 - August 18th, 2025 REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2026 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program). Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program Available and commit to the program working June 9, 2025 - August 18, 2025 Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program Must be over the age of 18 TO APPLY: Submit your resume and cover letter using our online application process.
