The Women's and Gender Studies Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2025. We seek candidates with a demonstrated teaching and scholarly focus on LGBTQ studies to teach Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies, Feminist Theory or Feminist Methodologies, and LGBTQ courses. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would further the College's goals of enhancing the educational experiences of students while building a diverse and inclusive educational environment. The position requires institutional service including academic advising of undergraduate students after the first year. Women's and Gender Studies at Hamilton College is a department committed to developing our students' skills in conducting interdisciplinary critical analyses of how gender - in relation to race, class, citizenship status, ability, age, and sexuality - structures our world. Candidates with a PhD in Women and Gender Studies are preferred; consideration will also be given to candidates with a PhD in another discipline and substantial teaching and scholarship in Women's and Gender Studies. The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year and five courses thereafter. The expected salary range for this position is $89,800 to $96,000.
