Whether you are looking to hone your craft or pick up new skills and specialties, The Falcon Group is a team to support your professional and personal growth.Job SummaryImmediate Opening for a Licensed Land Surveyor and Project Management Professional with 5+ years' experience in Site/Civil Project Management and/or Land Surveying to work in our Civil Engineering department in our Warren, NJ location. Falcon is looking for a land surveyor professional to help establish land surveying services for our existing and new clients.ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities would include:Review surveys to establish property boundaries.Perform deed research and work with title research firms to obtain boundaries.Conduct topographic, location, and boundary surveys in the field.Train/mentor junior staff in surveying and project management tasks and skills to grow surveying department.Research project area and assignment including previous surveys and boundary lines, topographic, etc.Utilize current and emerging technologies in the survey department. Ability to incorporate effective and efficient use of the latest surveying equipment.Prepare proposals for land surveying projects.Work with engineering and architectural teams to review and coordinate project findings.Maintain knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local surveying laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, etc. relative to land surveying.Prepare and provide expert opinions and reports related to surveying addition to the above,Oversee site work such as asphalt paving, concrete, grading/drainage including pre-construction, ongoing work and punch list/closeout.Coordinate and manage internal kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings for projects.Coordinates Draftsmen for projects.Represents clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.Proactively monitor success measures, work complete, schedule complete and budget complete.Prioritize and manage multiple projects within budget restrictions.Create and review project status municate status and issues; resolve discrepancies and problems with ongoing construction projects.Work closely with teams to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline to ensure project success.Conduct on-site inspections and documents existing conditions and perform field testing, photographing, the creation of hand sketches and to observe work in progress.Preparation of written correspondence with clients, attorneys, contractors, etc.Prepare investigative reports including observations, findings, and opinions.Preparation of Construction Cost Estimates.Improve job knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.Experience5-10+ years' experience required in Engineering, Surveying or Construction Management or combination of education and experience.Experience with site work/design in asphalt paving, concrete, grading/drainage, surveying, etc. required.Licenses and CertificationsValid PLS Licensure.OSHA 10 hour certified preferred, otherwise must complete within three months from date of hire.Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted valid Driver's License.SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.Excellent mathematical skills to conduct land survey analysis.Understanding of federal and state regulations relative to surveying and subdivision of land.Understanding of the principles, practices and procedures of land surveying.Ability to interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues.Ability to attend client meetings and events, as needed.Ability to work overtime, as needed.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Ability to work individually or with team members and work collaboratively with other disciplines.Ability to work in high pace, deadline driven work environment.Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local areas as workload and projects required.Ability to read construction drawings.Provide exceptional customer service.Ability to manage time and within project budgets.Employee BenefitsWe offer competitive salaries, professional work environments and a comprehensive benefits package.
