The Valent Biosciences manufacturing site located on an expansive 73-acre site in Osage, IA is a state of the art 130,000 square foot plant and is the largest purpose-built biorational facility in the world. It serves as the manufacturing and quality control center for Valent Biosciences broad portfolio of fermentation products. Description of Job: As an Indirect Purchase Order Entry Clerk at Valent BioSciences you will be responsible for accurately creating, entering, and processing purchase orders promptly. This role involves receiving a quote from the internal Requestor (Maintenance, Pilot Plant, Engineering Operations, and others as requested). Entry of line items required based on the quote into SAP is essential. Attention to detail, accuracy, and good communication skills are critical to success in this role. This is a temporary part-time position Key Responsibilities: Create and Enter Purchase Orders: Accurately create and input purchase orders into the company's ERP system (SAP) based on approved submitted quotes and vendor agreements. Verify Order Information: Ensure all purchase order details are correct, including pricing, quantities, item descriptions, delivery dates, and terms. Coordinate with Vendors: Communicate with vendors to confirm order details, pricing, and delivery schedules and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders. Maintain Purchase Order Records: Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchase orders and related documents, both electronically and physically. Track Order Status: Monitor the status of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Follow up with vendors as needed to expedite orders or address delays. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the procurement, finance, and inventory teams to ensure that purchase orders align with company needs and budgets. Resolve Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and receipts. Coordinate with accounts payable and other relevant departments to ensure accurate payment processing. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all purchase orders comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Other duties as required. Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with standard working hours. Some flexibility may be required depending on order deadlines or urgent requests. Preferred Qualifications and Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; associate's in accounting is a plus Proven experience in a purchase order entry in SAP or other ERP software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
