What you will do: This role functions in a shared-services format, providing HR support and labor expertise for various divisions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, operating in a partnership manner to identify opportunities for HR to engage effectively with management on strategic initiatives, demonstrate Human Resources value, and ensure commitments to corporate initiatives are met while maintaining a high sense of integrity, urgency, and confidentiality. In partnership with key stakeholders, will develop, recommend, and deploy strategies and programs to facilitate a positive employee experience and to avoid and/or mitigate labor disputes. Core responsibilities will include Labor Relations, Employee and Organizational Development, and Benefits Administration. 1. Labor Relations Represent the Company as Chief Negotiator in collective bargaining, in the last step of grievance procedures preceding referral to arbitration, and in mediation and arbitration proceedings. Write clear, concise, contract language. Develop and examine cost implications of economic changes presented during labor negotiations. 2. Employment and Organizational Development Train plant-level HR employees in human resource policy and procedures. Direct or indirect oversight of new hire orientations, employee relations, employee file maintenance, training, and promoting HR-related technologies. Initiate key communications or data gathering of corporate-level initiatives and other mandated programs. 3. Benefit Administration Provide benefit information to employees. Maintain current knowledge of benefit changes in legal interpretations of federal and state regulations. Coordinate the annual Wage and Benefits review process at non-union plants. Coordinate benefit language, updates, and legislation in union plant contract negotiations. We need you to have: Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field; a master's degree in business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal, or JD preferred. 5 or more years of labor relations experience with collective bargaining, grievances, and arbitration. 3 or more years of experience serving as Chief Negotiator during the collective bargaining process. Experience dealing with the National Labor Relations Act and National Labor Relations Board, preferably in a publicly held manufacturing company. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel. Solid verbal and written communication skills and robust critical thinking skills.
