Description POSITION SUMMARYThe Host/Hostess is responsible for prompt, friendly greeting and proper seating of all guests of the restaurant. Is responsible to provide a level of service which is gracious, kind and warm that provides an Exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm with our guests. He/She will have extensive menu knowledge, greet the guest, anticipate their needs, seat them and tender payments. Focus on departmental goals of - Consistency, Quality and Sense of Urgency. The Host/Hostess is responsible to provide an Exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm for restaurant guests. The Host/Hostess will maintain a high standard of cleanliness according to the food service sanitation codes. He/She will have extensive menu knowledge, take guest orders, anticipate their needs, deliver the orders and tender payment. Focus on departmental goals of - Consistency, Quality and Sense of Urgency. Maintains seating log and directs the flow of work for both wait staff and bus persons. Promotes positive public and employee relations. Safeguard company assets and adheres to all policies and procedures. Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential function. Adhere to all company policies and procedures to include strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines as well as confidentially regarding guest information. Clean as you go, clean spills immediately. Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly. Ensuring that all chemicals are in properly labeled containers. Accept and confirm reservations. Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values. Comply with department standards, guidelines and objectives to include adherence to all Food Service and Sanitation, OSHA and Hazcom standards and guidelines. Provide consistent high quality food and beverage service to all guests dining in the restaurants by adhering to sequence of service standards completely and correctly. Utilize 'upselling' techniques. Operate the Point of Sale System according to training provided. Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures. Have complete knowledge and understanding to restaurant and bar menus. Participate in departmental cross-training exercises to learn shoulder job duties such as Hostess or Bus Person. Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away adhering to the 5S Principles of ensuring that items are Sorted, set in order, Systematically cleaned, Standardize and Sustained and dating all items with the current date. Conduct himself/herself in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values. This position will regularly include evening and weekend shifts. Develop a deep understanding of the third-party platform in relation to F&B operations. Ensure that the site content, promotions, and betting events are presented and merchandized as expected. In order to best serve our guests in the Sportsbook lounge area, a basic understanding of both sports wagering and terminology associated with sports wagering is required. Deliver service according to the standards set by Management. Present a neat and professional appearance. Working knowledge and experience with Infogenesis. Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management. WORKING CONDITIONSMust have ability to: Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts. Work effectively in a fast paced environment. Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently. Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. Extended time on your feet. Accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs. Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces Work will be performed in a fast-paced, high volume Food and Beverage operation JOB QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Cashiering experience preferred. Must have a friendly demeanor and be able to communicate well with the public. Must be able to work in an intense and fast paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform required job duties. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance. Must have an optimistic outlook, proven track record of leading, inspiring, and proven track record of success in service excellence. Attention to quality details, great communication skills and know how to deliver excitement. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior food service experience preferred. Ability to read instructions and correspondence/memos. Attention to detail and accuracy. Maintain confidential information. Minimum of 2 years working in an upscale, high volume establishment. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of sports, menu and beverages. Work requires teamwork with other staff members. REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations: Attend required training sessions offered by the casino. Obtain required license(s). Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations. Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department. Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gambling. Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls. Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of. #dellago
