Description Come join our life-changing team building hope, resilience and well-being as a Child and Teen Specialist Shift Details: Full-time - 40 hours/week Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 annual salary Location: Vista 44 - Hopkins, MN About the job: The Child and Teen Specialist at Vista 44, a family-centered permanent supportive housing project, plays a critical role in fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and teenagers. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and services that cater to the unique needs of young residents, ensuring their overall well-being and promoting positive development. The specialist works collaboratively with families, staff, and external partners to create a comprehensive support network for youth. This role is vital in creating a positive, safe, and enriching environment for the children and teenagers at Vista 44. Essentials: Program Development and Implementation: Design, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate programs and activities aimed at enhancing the social, emotional, and educational development of children and teenagers. Develop individual and group activities that promote life skills, creativity, and physical well-being. Facilitate after-school programs, summer camps, and special events tailored to the interests and needs of youth residents. Housing Case Management: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the strengths and needs of each child and teenager. Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with families and other service providers. Provide ongoing housing case management and support, including advocacy and referrals to appropriate resources. Family Engagement: Work closely with parents and guardians to support their involvement in their children's development and education. Conduct parenting workshops and provide resources to help families create stable and nurturing home environments. Facilitate family-centered activities that strengthen family bonds and promote community cohesion. Collaboration and Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and service providers to enhance the range of services available to children and teenagers. Coordinate with mental health professionals, educators, and healthcare providers to address the comprehensive needs of youth. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated service delivery. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all services provided, including case notes, progress reports, and outcome evaluations. Prepare and submit regular reports to program managers and funders as required. Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including property management, social workers, counselors, and healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive support to families. Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss youth progress, challenges, and solutions. Provide support, guidance, and training to any volunteers and interns involved in the program. Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and supportive housing services. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Experience working with children and teens in supportive housing, social services, or educational settings will be considered. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and teenagers in a social service, educational, or similar setting. Experience in housing case management and program development for youth.
