The Program Manager will create a safe and supportive environment to enrich the lives of young people on the Lower East Side within the Edgies Teen Center. The Program Manager will support teen center members social and emotional development to enhance their well-being and help them thrive. Duties and Responsibilities Support the oversight of part-time teen center staff including activity specialists and activity managers. Build relationships with youth that are positive and professional. Provide guidance and support to youth in their personal and social development. Collaborate regularly with staff to design programs that promote an inclusive teen center culture, such as bullying prevention, student leadership opportunities, mentoring, training and conferences. Confidently engage in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and mediations with youth Establish and model expectations for behavior and participation/engagement to ensure a safe and positive environment. Participate alongside program participants when appropriate and provide active supervision throughout activities. Facilitates and communicates youth empowerment opportunities through involvement in student organizations, community service, and leadership development opportunities. Attends and participates in professional development to improve and maintain knowledge of positive youth development evidence-based strategies and theories. Actively participate in designated meetings, training sessions, and special events. Provide administrative and programmatic support to Edgies Teen Center Program Director in all tasks and duties related to their functions and ensure smooth running of the programs. Serve as Acting Director in the absence of the Edgies Teen Center Program Director. Assist with the supervision of staff and work alongside Program Director to determine workloads and schedules for the part-time staff of the Edgies Teen Center. Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the program, including responding to specific maintenance and security concerns. Responsible for monitoring and inventorying equipment and supplies to ensure adequate supplies and maintained. Assis with ordering and purchasing of program and event supplies. Assist with program tracking systems and expenditure submissions. Assist with the planning and organizing of teen center events. Including maintaining event calendars, activities schedules, facilities tickets, and floor plans. Participate in student outreach and recruitment, enrollment, and attendance tracking. Prepare and maintain program files, class rosters, students and staff attendance records and programmatic spreadsheets. Assist in managing the daily operations of the program, ensuring activities run smoothly. Communicate with students, parents, school personnel, colleges, community-based organizations, and other partners. Participate in program design and evaluation in collaboration with staff and Program Director. Facilitate a weekly sisterhood group where self-identified girls/femme identified students can support one another's growth as they learn life skills, social emotional learning skills, and leadership skills. Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (participants, parents, school staff and administration, funders, and the community). Provide disciplinary support in de-escalation, mediation, incident reports, and intervention set up, and restorative justice with students as needed, Conduct observations report information back to Program Director consistently and address concerns as they arise, Participate in professional development opportunities. Work with MCC (Manny Cantor Center) development staff and partner schools to prepare and submit relevant data and narrative reports and correspondence relating to programs for partners and funders. Maintain up to date CPR, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and De-escalation training. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelors Degree preferred Minimum 2 years experience of youth program supervision and administration Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner. Ability to work independently and part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Trax Solutions Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
