Abookkeeper clerk'srole in property managementinvolves managing financial records, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial documentation. Here are some key responsibilities and skills usually required for this position: Key Responsibilities: Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update accounting records and files. Analyze budgets and create financial reports. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage invoicing, handle accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payment of bills. Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies. Budget Preparation: Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking against budget. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax filing. Lease Renewals: Assist with updating lease renewals in compliance with HUD and affordable housing regulations. Required Skills: Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling financial data. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records. Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math and ability to analyze financial data. Communication Skills: Effective communication capabilities to interact with vendors, tenants, and management staff. Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and Checkscan, familiarity with standard accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage, and Microsoft Office Suite. Qualifications: A high school diploma is required, but an associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar role, especially within property management, is highly advantageous. Familiarity with HUD and managing affordable housing portfolios is required.
