To quote a popular saying at TNC, 'you'll join for the mission, and you'll stay for the people.'WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHERAs a member of the Donor Relations department and Donor Stewardship team, the Grant Specialist will provide the technical guidance and support needed to implement customized stewardship efforts and fulfill donor requirements for a portfolio of principal gift-level private foundations. Working closely with fundraising, program and other staff, the Grant Specialist will project manage the development of proposals and stewardship reports and confirm grant terms are met. They will help ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures, Internal Revenue Code regulations, and the Donor Bill of Rights, with the goal of safeguarding the organization from risk while also providing our donors with a rewarding philanthropic experience.Primary responsibilities for the Grant Specialist will include solicitation review, gift/grant acceptance, grant management, stewardship plan development and maintenance, donor file maintenance, and project management and tracking. Specific activities will include working with fundraising, program, and other staff to develop and review concept notes, proposals, stewardship reports, and other materials for private foundation donors; project-managing the proposal development and/or report development process; reviewing grant agreements; monitoring grant-specific spending and progress on deliverables with program staff; and ensuring compliance with donor and other requirements. They will have substantial contact with internal stakeholders, including fundraisers and Legal and Finance colleagues. The Grant Specialist will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices to improve services. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
