Learn more here: School/College/Division Description The Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs ( FAA ) delivers essential business services that provide a foundation for UWM's student success, research excellence, community engagement, climate and culture, and visibility and image. The departments in Finance & Administrative Affairs provide a wide array of services to steward and facilitate the management of the university's primary resources: human capital, finances, facilities, and information technology. FAA staff perform the accounting functions, plan for building construction and remodeling, provide technology infrastructure and enterprise IT services and resources, maintain healthy and safe research environments, provide security and protective services, clean and maintain the campus buildings and grounds, ensure fiscal integrity of campus financial operations, and provide legal advice and representation. Job Summary Under the general direction of the Senior Vice Chancellor for the Division of Finance & Administrative Affairs (the 'Division'), this position serves as budget and fiscal manager for the Division and, in that role, is responsible for the direct management of the day-to-day business and financial activities for the Division, including annual budget development, budget management, and oversight of Division finances. This role requires interaction with leaders in the Division, University administration, business officers, personnel directors and managers; other divisional leadership and staff; and with the UWM Foundation. The Divisional Finance Officer ensures excellence, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Division's business operations. This position has supervisory responsibility for three positions and serves as a member of the Division's leadership group. The Division of Finance & Administrative Affairs includes the following operating units: -Information Technology -Business & Financial Services -Human Resources -Facilities Planning & Management -Legal Affairs -University Police. The standard job description can be found here: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 3+ years of professional work experience performing directly related work within a similar function Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards and financial reporting Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field Master's, related advanced degree, or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA ) Directly related experience working in Finance in a public university setting Prior supervisory or leadership experience Proven track record of collaboration and advancing initiatives across all levels of an organization Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, including PC-based spreadsheet applications and systems Experience with ERP Systems, including Workday Target Salary Range $140,000-$150,000 (Final offer based on experience related to the position.)
