Location: Syracuse, NY Category: Faculty Posted On: Wed Oct 4 2023 Job Description: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR- Chemical Engineering The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) in Syracuse, NY is initiating a faculty search in Chemical Engineering. The successful candidate for this position is expected to participate actively and sustainably in research and teaching in a core chemical engineering field. Research and Teaching Preferences: We seek candidates who are interested in Sustainable Chemical Engineering via experimental (e.g., carbon capture/storage, energy storage, semiconductor) and/or computational methods (e.g., process control, computational/numerical solutions, artificial intelligence). The candidate must be qualified to teach core chemical engineering subject areas including, such as Transport Phenomena, Numerical Analysis, Process Control, Chemical Engineering Design, and Product Design. Starting Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a PhD with B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Preferred Qualifications: Track record of publications in high-impact journals and successful grant writing. Demonstrated capability as a teacher and mentor of both undergraduates and graduate students. Commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in research, teaching and service activities. Additional Information: Location: With a total enrollment of about 2,200 undergraduates and 400 graduate students, combined with the immediate proximity of Syracuse University and Upstate Medical University, ESF provides an intimate, small-college atmosphere within a vibrant, large-university setting.
