Summary This position is located in the New York Office (NYO) of the Antitrust Division (Division), and the incumbent will report to the NYO Section Chief and Assistant Chiefs. The incumbent is responsible for supervising administrative staff and performing administrative and legal support functions. As a Legal Administrative Officer for the New York Office, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervise a subordinate staff of administrative and legal personnel; set goals and priorities. Serve as the principal advisor to the Chief and Assistant Chief on all administrative and legal matters associated with programs and operations. Analyze data and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of investigative and criminal case tracking programs. Prepare written presentations, reports, records, and related correspondence for the Chief and Assistant Chiefs regarding the litigation and administrative support programs. Resolve problems in the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a United States Citizen or National. You must undergo a pre-employment security investigation. You may be required to take and successfully clear a drug test. If selected, you must satisfactory complete a one-year supervisory probationary period unless this requirement has been previously met. This position is excluded from the Bargaining Unit. Qualifications If you are a current Antitrust employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, to qualify for the position of Legal Administrative Officer, (GS-0301-13), your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position being filled. Specialized experience must include at least 3 out of 4 of the following: Leading teams; Providing legal advice, guidance, and policy support in a legal office; Overseeing and evaluating evidence in trial records, and preparing summary material to be used by attorneys; Overseeing, enforcing, and implementing procedures pertaining to the safeguarding, handling, and storage of legal records in a legal office.
