Job TitleCommerce Editor, The SpruceJob DescriptionThe Spruce is looking for a Commerce Editor to join the team. The editor will focus on creating review content across all of The Spruce's main topics, including cleaning, bedding, gardening, and more. This person will also manage freelance writers. The editor's primary goal will be to work with writers and freelancers to deliver the best experience to the reader for each story while meeting weekly and monthly production goals.This role will work with other editors, our research and testing team, and our growth team to assign, edit, and update stories with new products, research, lab insights, and more. You will also be asked to onboard freelancers, manage freelancer relationships, and find experts to interview for articles.This role reports to a Senior Editor. You'll be expected to follow guidelines for assignment briefs, updates, brand voice, and editorial standards and ensure our review stories are accurate, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible to all readers.About Your Contributions:Edit, update, write, and publish home-focused stories daily.Assign 5 to 10 articles per month to freelancers to keep The Spruce's shopping library up-to-date.Onboard new freelancers as needed and manage freelancer relationships.Help find experts to tap for quotes to ensure authority across all content.Collaborate with the commerce, editorial, growth, testing and research, and social teams.About You:3+ years of assigning experience at an online publisher2+ years working in commerce and affiliate industryExperience with SEO best practices and tools and how it relates to contentStrong project management skills, including proficiency in management tools like Google Suite and AirtableStrong communication and organizational skillsA deep knowledge of the home space, and a passion for shopping and productsA self-starter who can pivot as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordinglyOpen to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding, and constantly evolving organizationIt is the policy of Dotdash Meredith to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
