For more information, please visit . Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Full-Time Recreation Counselor for our Residential program located in Brentwood, Long Island. The Recreation Counselor is responsible for all aspects of client recreational activities including planning, documenting, and overseeing each function. The schedule for this position is 6 to 12 hours per week to be discussed. The hours are flexible and must able to work holidays. What You Will Do: Provide supervised highly structured indoor recreational activities to residents. Provide supervised highly structured outdoor recreational activities to residents. Provide supervised highly structured indoor recreation in the weight room with residents. Plan and oversee special events with residents and their families. Provide supervisor with scheduled activities for residents in orientation, early treatment, middle treatment, and late treatment phases of the program. Provide daily group notes indicating activities and resident participation. Complete and accurate reporting of incident reports, resident elopements, and crisis intervention. Participate in supervisions. Communicate all pertinent information/incidents/emergencies via SAC book/House Manager. Supervise residents in self-medication. Who You Are: Available to work Sun-Thurs 3 pm-11pm Experience in creative arts and/or recreational therapy Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures. Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people Experience with AVATAR electronic health records is a plus.
