Job Title: Server Main Funtion: Serve Resident Meals Reports To: Dining Room Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for dining area set ups and clearing tables Explains menu items available to residents with knowledge of food preparation and ingredients. Takes meal and beverage orders from residents. Serves meals and beverages to residents according to established rules of etiquette in a formal setting. Checks regularly with residents throughout meal to inquire as to additional needs; replenish beverages etc. Upon completion of meal; will offer dessert items; coffee, tea, etc. Ensure accurate accounting practices when posting charges to resident accounts utilizing P.O.S. system. Will perform other duties as assigned. Education: High School Students permitted, otherwise High School Diploma/GED preferred Contacts: Contact with residents, families and guests. Contact with staff members from all departments. Working Conditions: Modern kitchen, dining area and equipment. Physical Demands: Walks/stands through entire shift. Job Hazards: Normal kitchen hazards such as wet floors, cuts, burns, lifts trays. Safety: Will follow safe work practices in accordance with housing complex health and safety policies.
