Engineering Manager (LSI-NH) Astronics Subsidiary Location Description Qualifications Required This position requires access to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) - must be US Person Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership, managerial, or mentoring role. Experience in the aerospace industry, with a strong understanding of aerospace systems and standards. Strong background in electromechanical product development and sustainment Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Management Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and support staff to provide product design and development, compliance, and sustainment activities. Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to the engineering team. Set goals and objectives for the team, aligning them with company objectives to support customer programs, internal R&D initiatives, and deployment of new manufacturing processes. Conduct performance evaluations and support career development of team members. Provide staffing and salary recommendations, and other tasks typical of supervision. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. Technical Responsible for overseeing the design, development, qualification, and transition to manufacturing of electrical systems and components for aerospace applications. Tactical execution of day-to-day engineering operations. Review and approve designs, analyses, and technical documentation. Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies. Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. Review, revise, and develop department standards and business processes to improve productivity and quality. The engineering manager is responsible for all engineering processes required by AS9100, including configuration management, and product qualification and certification. Identify opportunities for improving design processes, tools, and methodologies. Encourage and support the development of new ideas and solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, operations, quality, sales, human resources, and accounting. Communicate project status, technical issues, and solutions to stakeholders, including senior management and customers. Work Environment Business is conducted in English with working documents written in English. This is an on-site position. Office environment, with where noise level is usually moderate. The level of responsibilities may induce a certain level of stress. Travel to supplier, customer, or other Astronics locations, about 5% of the time.
